Dear Indo-English School Community
(Students, Parents, Teachers, and Well-wishers),
I am writing this message with a great deal of gratitude and joy. As the school’s founding principal, I am pleased to see how well the institution has developed to the point where it is producing a large number of talents for the nation.
IES began as a dream that my husband, Mr. Mihir Mukherjee, and I shared. Today, it has evolved into a symbol of empowerment and education for the kids in and around Rourkela.
I joined my husband, who was passionate about expanding access to high-quality education, on a journey to provide top-notch education for many kids on the outskirts of Rourkela, a steel town.
Starting with only three students in a single room in our own home, we had a very modest beginning. We had no idea that this modest beginning would result in an amazing journey.
As the number of students increased, we needed to find a larger space to accommodate these eager minds. During the journey, we faced challenges in finding suitable locations, hiring qualified teachers, and building necessary infrastructure. As a postgraduate in mathematics, I would have been easily able to accept offers from prestigious institutions. However, I remained committed to our goal of expanding education beyond traditional classrooms and establishing a superior educational institution.
I am incredibly proud to say that two of my own children graduated from this particular school, as I stand here today. This journey has been incredibly fulfilling for me personally as well as for our school. It is evidence of what a passionate vision and committed work can accomplish.
I want to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to a huge number of people and organizations who played an essential role for the development of the Indo-English School. This school is now regarded as one of the best in Rourkela thanks to the support of the government, the community, the managing committee, the teachers who have nurtured our students, the principals who have provided guidance, and every member of the staff.
We owe our success to the collective effort of a community that believes in the transformative power of education. Together, we have turned dreams into reality and paved the way for a brighter future for our children.
Let us continue to collaborate as we go forward in order to fulfil our goal of empowering the disadvantaged through education.
Thank you all for being a part of this remarkable journey.
With warm regards,
Mrs Manju Mukherjee
